Karen MaierKaren E. Maier, 69, of Albion, passed away on Jan. 4, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Titusville, Pa., a daughter of Vida Cook (Holmes).

Karen retired after a long career at 3M and Eastman Kodak. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as spending time with family and friends, gardening in the yard, and relaxing by the pool. She was an avid reader, with a vast collection of books that she enjoyed losing herself in. She was an animal lover who had a little rescue companion dog, Abbey.  She will be missed, and her memory will forever be carried in the hearts of her family and friends.

Mrs. Maier was predeceased by her loving husband of 39½ years, Gary Maier; and her sister, Robin Cook of Michigan.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Green of Albion, Robert (Cindy) Unger of Churchville, and Cherie (Dennis) Brooks of Holley; her mother, Vida Cook of Titusville; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Robbie, Nicholas and Ricci.

Services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Karen’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Strong Memorial Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
