Julia BrownJulia A. Brown, 91, of Middleport, died Dec. 3, 2019 at Absolut Care of Gasport. She was born Aug. 28, 1928 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Peter and Frances (Tomasello) Martelli. She lived in the Middleport area, where she loved living, all her life.

Julia loved working at Medina Memorial Hospital, from which she retired after many years. She enjoyed going to Darrell’s Place, crafts, knitting, crocheting and sewing. She owned and operated Country Charm Fabrics. Another love of Julia’s was dancing, especially at weddings – her favorites were the Jitterbug and the Charleston.

Julia was predeceased by her husband, Robert, whom she married in 1948; children, Dennis, David, Debra and Anne Brown; son-in-law, Jim Coughenour; siblings, Carmella (Angelo) Tomasello, Anna (Leonard) Tomasello, Helen (Santo) Tomasello, Frank Martelli and Mary Martelli.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Steve) Walsh and Kathy Coughenour; grandchildren, Richard and David Wisniewski, Michele (James) Kennedy, Michael Wisniewski, Jennifer (Gerry Jr.) Perkins, Ann (Jordan) Branch, and Felicia Coughenour; great-grandchildren, Gianna and Elina Wisniewski, Sarah, Josh, Zachary, Nicholas and Madelyn Kennedy, Reanna Perkins, and Jordana Branch; daughter-in-law, Regina Brown; sister-in-law, Carmella Martelli; dear friends, Lynn Bullen and Sylvia Mountain; many nieces, nephews, cousins and great neighbors.

The family will receive friends on Fri.,Dec. 6 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bates, Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport, where her funeral service will be held Sat., Dec. 7 at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in Hartland Cemetery.
