Joyce BensleyJoyce E. Bensley, 82, of Albion, died May 30, 2019 at the New York State Veterans’ Home in Batavia. She was born April 25, 1937 in Holley, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth (Ricebrook) Atkinson, and she lived in this area all of her life.

Joyce was a member and past president of the Albion Sheret Post #35 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Holley VFW Post #202 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Holley Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She worked at G.E. and Owens Illinois in Brockport and was also a bus driver for the Holley Central School District.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Ross Gaylord; her second husband, James Pratt; her stepson, Larry Pratt; and her brother, L. Charles Atkinson.

She is survived by her husband, George Bensley; sons, Stephen (Kathleen Leonard) Gaylord of Arizona and Scott (Janet Tanner) Gaylord of Carlton; stepchildren, Gerald (Lynn) Bensley, Sandra Bensley, Tamara (Arnie) Allen, Victoria Pratt and Cheryl Pratt; grandchildren, Brieann, Lucian Allen and Daniel; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Tue., June 4 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., where her funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
