Joyce A. Reed
BARRE – Joyce A. Reed age 81, passed away September 17, 2024 at LeRoy Nursing Home. She was born June 29, 1943, in Alexandria Bay a daughter of the late Earl and Louise (Calhoun) Reff.
Joyce worked as Head of Personnel at Orleans Correctional Facility and then also worked at Albion Correctional Facility before working at and retiring from Attica Correctional Facility. She attended the Batavia United Methodist Church, was a member of the Albion Lodge #106 BPO Elks, enjoyed golfing and was very involved in the lives of her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Edward, and a brother: Earl Reff.
She is survived by her children Russell (Colleen) Corey, April (John Spinks) Flesch, Deborah (Paul) Thurston, Ronald (Kathy) Reed, Scott (Mary) Reed; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters Nancy Walters, Carol Happ, Roselyn Goutremout, Norma Zanker as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Albion Elks Lodge, 428 W. State Street, Albion, NY, 14411 on SATURDAY September 21st from 3-4 where an Elks Service in Joyce’s memory will be held following visitation at 4 p.m. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity or organization of your choice. Joyce’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home of Albion.
