Joseph Aina, Sr.

Joseph Aina, Sr., 69, of Albion died April 24, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital following a long illness. He was born Aug. 30, 1951 in Albion, a son of the late James and June (Dingler) Aina and had lived in this area all of his life.

Hunting was Joe’s passion. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding his tractor and tending to his land. He retired from NYSDOT in Albion after 20 years and then went to work at Allied Builders in Brockport for 10 years. He was a good man who loved his family and lived for his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Patsy Aina. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley; sons: Joe (Bridget), Tony (Sandra), Brian J (Amy), Tyler (Priscilla) and Zachary Achzet who was like a son; grandchildren: Johnathan, Jake, Jax, Blake, Cade, Dayne, Morgan, Finn, Hoyt, Hank, Carly, Lyra; brother, James (Eileen) Aina; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no prior calling hours. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. Albion.
