Joseph A. Saeva, 91, of Albion, died Oct. 29, 2019 at Unity Hospital following a short illness. He was surrounded by his family. Joe was born Oct. 1, 1928 in Albion, a son of the late Pasquale and Antoinette (Barber) Saeva, and he lived in this area all of his life.

Joe graduated in 1947 from Albion High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball, ran track and bowled. He was most proud of the five letters he received for being an athlete. Joe’s biggest passion was golf. He and his three brothers owned and operated Reliable Cleaners in Albion for many years. He will be remembered as a very caring and family-oriented man who was always willing to lend a helping hand for anyone in need.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Rose Monacelli, Ann Colonna and Mary Stevens; and by his brothers, Nunzio and John.

He is survived by his sister, Martha DePeters of Albion; and his sister-in-law, Fran Saeva of Albion; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Fri., Nov. 1 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, where prayers will be recited on Sat., Nov. 2 at 9:30 a.m, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish – St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
