John “Jack” Baron, 92, died Sept. 24, 2019 in The Villages of Orleans following a brief illness. He was born May 28, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pa. to William and Amanda (Omland) Baron and lived in this area most of his life.

Jack was a United States Navy veteran and was a member of Sheret Post #35 American Legion, a charter member of the Barre Fire Company, and a member of West Barre United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir. Jack loved all types of music and even played the violin. He loved hunting and fishing, and he enjoyed traveling around the country.

Mr. Baron was predeceased by his wife, Jean; and a grandson, Andrew Baron.

He is survived by his children, Bonnie Baron of Albion, John Baron of Albion, Tom Baron of Florida, Jill (Roger) Chandler of Albion, and Trudy (Ben) Andersen of Florida; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, on Fri., Sept. 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. only. Family and friends are invited to attend Jack’s funeral service on Sat., Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. at West Barre United Methodist Church, 5377 Eagle Harbor Road, Albion. Interment will take place at a later date in Pembroke National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Barre United Methodist Church, 5377 Eagle Harbor Road, Albion NY 14411.
