John Hugh Clark

American flagALBION –  John Hugh Clark, 81, died Nov. 17, 2020 at Rochester General Hospital.  He was born June 27, 1939 in Albion, a son of the late Denton R. and Ruth (Worthington) Clark and had lived in this area most of his life and enjoyed growing up in the country.

Hugh graduated from Lyndonville Central School and after, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1961.  He worked for NYSDOT as a heavy equipment operator and after retiring, he worked for Waterport Lawn and Garden.  Hugh was a member of the N.R.A., the Albion Sportsman Club, the Yates Carlton Sportsman Club and the Albion Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. #1006.

In 1968 Hugh married Gail (Babbitt), and together they raised a son Mark, who passed away at the age of 11.  He was also predeceased by his brother Denton R. Clark, Jr.; his brother-in-law, Robert Barry.  He is survived by his wife Gail, of 52 years; sister, Joan Barry; sister-in-law, Helen Clark; brother-in-law, Ray (Sue) Babbitt; a special friend from childhood, Butch Riemer; his best furry buddy KaSee; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no prior calling hours or service.  His burial will be in Carlton Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.  Arrangements were entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. Albion.
