John E. Herrington

John E. Herrington, 65, of E. Amherst died April 11, 2022 in Sisters of Charity Hospital. He was born Nov. 19, 1956 in Batavia, a son of Samuel and Ruth (Goodwin) Herrington.

John was a retiree of Harrison Radiator having worked there from 1977-2009 and then as a bus driver for the Clarence School District. For several years, he attended the Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church where he served as an usher and a greeter. In later years he often attended The Chapel.

John enjoyed his daily gathering for breakfast and coffee with his friends and colleagues from the bus garage. John was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and was very proud of achieving the designation of an Eagle Scout.

He is survived by his children: Jon-Michael (Theresa Grano) Herrington of Cheektowaga, Rebecca (Eric) Hallinan of Hamburg, Andrea (Jon-Paul) Merchant of Ransomville; brothers: Earl (Sue) Herrington of Lancaster, Jeanne Powers of Fla., Stewart (Grace) Herrington of Ga.; grandchildren: Spenser, Caleb, Teagan; as well as several nieces and nephews including, Jason Herrington.

The family will receive friends at the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St., Gasport, Mon., April 18 from 12-2 p.m. followed immediately by his funeral service at 2 p.m.  Interment will be held privately in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Elba.
