Joanne McGaughey

MEDINA – Joanne Marie Schrader McGaughey, age 95, of Medina, NY, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Medina Memorial hospital Medina, New York.

Joanne was born on August 30, 1930, in Medina, New York. She was the daughter of Charles Fredrick Schrader and Eleanor Thorne McCabe Schrader.

She married the love of her life, Laird Kenneth McGaughey on April 28, 1951. Joanne was a loving and devoted mother. She and her husband, Laird (aka Larry), raised two children.

Joanne is survived by her two children: Derrick Laird McGaughey and Charmayne Renee McGaughey Bloom (Robert William Bloom Jr.), granddaughter, Chelsey Marie Bloom Beutel (Christopher John Beutel) and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her four siblings: Robert James McCabe (Marie McCabe), Eleanor Virginia McCabe Erway Putnam, Eleanora Elizabeth McCabe Seward (Roy Elbert Seward), Janette Beatrice McCabe Brown (Robert Edward Brown) as well as her parents.

Joanne’s family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made in Joanne’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association and to the New Life Alliance Church, 4140 Shelby Basin Rd. Medina, NY 14103.
