Joan BennettJoan E. Bennett, 93, of Lyndonville, passed peacefully on Fri., July 3, 2020 at her home, with her loving family at her side. She was born on Feb. 20, 1927 in Wheaton, Ill., a daughter of the late John and Bessie (Phillips) Hinshaw.

On Sept. 7, 1957, she married the late Kenneth G. Bennett, and together they raised two sons. Joan was a devoted mother and wife who also helped run the small fruit farm. She was a lifelong member of Lyndonville Presbyterian Church, where she served as treasurer for many years. In her spare time, she loved to paint, and she sold many pieces of her artwork. She enjoyed doing puzzles, weeding in her garden, and reading.

Joan is survived by her two sons, Thomas A. Bennett of Lyndonville and John D. Bennett (Peggy S. Henchen) of Wayland, N.Y.; grandchildren, Thomas J., Trisha A., Kaitlyn J. and Karly J.; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat., July 11 at Lynhaven Cemetery, Housel Avenue, Lyndonville, with the Pastor Martha Mitchell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
