Jimmy L. Goode

American flagWILSON – Jimmy L. Goode, 71, of Wilson, NY, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Lockport Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 23, 1949 in Niagara Falls, NY, a son of the late Lindsey C. and June (Snyder) Goode.

On August 27, 1967, Jimmy enlisted in the U.S. Army serving his country as a door gunner and later as a poster Illustrator. Upon returning home, he worked various construction jobs, where he learned extreme carpentry and cabinetry.  Jimmy used his talent in cabinet making to own and operate, Wood by Goode. Jimmy was a mentor to area youth, coaching baseball for over 30 years and being a Boy Scout Leader. He was an active member of Community Fellowship Church and was instrumental on getting a cross for the steeple and he was a member of the Full Armor of God Church. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed playing in a band, songwriting and singing. He will be remembered for always lending a helping hand or giving grandfatherly advice.

Jimmy is survived by his fiancée , Janet Tagg of Gasport; his children, Raymond Goode of Big Cabin, OK, Roger Goode of Grand Lake, OK, Jason (Emily) Goode of Boulder, CO, Amanda (Brian) Hoyt  and Owen (Veronica) Goode, all of Grand Island, NY, and Olivia Goode of Wilson, NY. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and his band mates, Jon “Short-Shorts” Munnikhuysen, Jack Hannah, Dr. Jim Hohensee and John and Carol Ralicki.

Jimmy is predeceased by his wife, Glenda G. (Gelnette) Goode.

Relatives and friends may attend a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 6th, 2021, at the Yates Baptist Church, 11365 E Yates Center Rd, Lyndonville, NY 14098 with Pastor Tom Hausrath officiating. Military Honors will be accorded at the church.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103.
