Jennie (Saeva) Monacelli, 96, of Albion, passed away peacefully on Feb. 12, 2019, under the loving and tender care of the hospice staff at the Martin Linsin Residence in Albion. She was born on Oct. 14, 1922 in Albion to Guiseppe and Raimonda (Siccarella) Saeva.

Jennie graduated from Albion High School, class of 1942. She attended and graduated from the College of Swedish Massage in Chicago, Ill. in 1947. She practiced in her home for many years. Jennie spent the majority of her life as a homemaker, and as a caregiver to her parents.

Jennie enjoyed spending time with her family and was so proud to become a great-grandmother to Laine Elinor Harvey. She loved baseball, especially the Yankees; cooking, music, and talking to her friends, and she loved her family more than life itself.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eric; her brother, John (Millie) Saeva; and her sisters, Rose (Pete) Sacco, Martha (Al) Capurso and Ann (Dominic) Grillo.

She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Larry) Harvey; grandson, Rex (Katie) Harvey; great-granddaughter and the joy of her life, Laine Elinor Harvey; along with many wonderful and loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, on Sun., Feb. 17 from 3 to 6 p.m. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Mon., Feb. 18 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
