Jean L. Ahl

HOLLEY – Jean L. Ahl, age 77, passed away on January 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 10, 1946 in Niagara Falls, a daughter of the late John and Thelma (Klage) Leenhouts and had lived in this area since 1968.

Jean enjoyed reading, bowling, watching the Buffalo Bills, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Gary who passed away in 2014; and brothers, Russell and Roger Leenhouts.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Debra (Russell) Walls, Jr. of Holley; son, John (Amy) Ahl of Holley; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben Albert) Gurnsey of Greece and Bryan (DeAnna Horr) Ahl of LeRoy; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Jaelee Gurnsey of Greece, and Evan Ahl of LeRoy; brother, Richard (Sandi) Leenhouts of Florida as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, 16650 State Rte. 31 Holley, Saturday January 27th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where a brief service will follow at 2 p.m. A private burial will be in Hillside Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holley Rotary Club to benefit the youth program or P.A.W.S., 3371 Gaines Basin Rd., Albion NY 14411.
