Janet A. Mowers

KENDALL – Janet A. Mowers, a great mom and grandmother who adored her grandchildren, died on Dec. 31, 2020.  She was born Aug. 28, 1930 in Ellenburg NY, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Exina (Cooke) Patrie and had lived in this area for most of her life.

Janet was a member of the Gaines Carlton Community Church, the Sunshine Lady Choir and the Kendall Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved children and opened her home to baby sit.  She loved to bake cakes and her Friday morning breakfast group at Two Brothers, but said the Village House had the best French onion soup.  Janet was an avid letter writer and a good friend.  She was always reaching out to people with a letter.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Roland and her son, Mark.  She is survived by her daughters: Patricia (Bruce) Levandowski, Jacki (Steve) Sciarabba; her son, Todd Mowers; grandchildren: Michael Levandowski, Paige (Mat) Hungerford, Shane Mowers; great-grandson, Clay Michael Hungerford; sister, Joyce (Robert) Peters; brother, James (Patricia) Patrie; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There are no prior calling hours.  Her Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date to be announced.  Memorials may be made to Orleans County Office for the Aging, 14016 Rte. 31 West, Suite 201, Albion, NY 14411.
