GAINES – James W. Plummer died suddenly on June 21, 2022. He was born July 17, 1942 to Clyde and Agnes Plummer.

Jim was a 1960 graduate of Medina Central School and served in the National Guard during the 1960s. He enjoyed maintaining his park-like yard, hunting, playing cards…especially euchre, fishing and boating. He enjoyed collecting, restoring and building classic cars, and also had a passion for NHRA drag races. He shared that passion with his children, going to NHRA events and creating a lifetime of happy memories. He was an amazing and creative person who dearly loved his family and was considered the “Rock” for everyone in it.

He is survived by his wife, Sheila; his son, Scott (Amy) Plummer of Albion; his daughters, Tracy (Tim) Holler of Rochester, Kelly Sargent of Rochester, and Tammy (Joe) Clarke of Rochester; his sister, JoAnn (Susie) Hall of NC; 5 grandchildren, William, Dylan, Samantha, Jimmy and Jenna, as well as several nieces and a nephew.

The family will be holding a graveside service in Bates Road Cemetery on July 23 at 12:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity or organization of your choice. Jim’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home of Albion.  To share a special memory of Jim, please visit: www.mitchellfamilyfuneralhomes.com.
