James Miceli

James S. “Jim” Miceli, 68, of Brockport, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Jan. 22, 2019. He was born April 5, 1950 in Albion to the late James F. and Lillian (LoIacono) Miceli.

Jim was an attorney for over 40 years, with his own practice in Brockport. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, watching television, reading, scuba diving, hiking, and spending time with family. Jim was a 1968 graduate of Albion High School. He earned his B.S. degree from SUNY Brockport and his J.D. degree from Syracuse University College of Law. Being an SU graduate, Jim was an obvious Syracuse Orangemen fan, as well as a fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills. Jim benefited dearly from his close relationship with his family and friends over the past six months as he fought a courageous battle with cancer. He cherished all the special moments he spent with his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Marcy (Strouse); daughter, Sarah (Brad) Smith of Olathe, Kan.; son, Daniel (Aimee Richardson) Hodge of Gates, N.Y.; granddaughter, Kira Skye Hodge; sister, Joanne (Eileen Pagan) Miceli of Sag Harbor, N.Y.; as well as countless relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Ave., Albion NY 14411, on Mon., Jan. 28 from 3 to 7 p.m. Jim’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish/St. Joseph’s Church, Park Street, Albion NY 14411, on Tue., Jan. 29 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
