James SmithJames P. Smith, 62, of Albion, passed away June 14, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born Nov. 18, 1956 in Albion, a son of Irene (Goodwin) Smith and the late Richard Wesley Smith.

Jim was a lifetime member of the St. Mary’s Athletic Club, and he worked at Lake Ontario Fruit as a forklift operator for 32 years. Jim was a very social person who loved playing with his grandchildren and his great-grandson, Xavier.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Mary O. and Martha Atkins.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sharon; children, Amanda (Patrick Weis) Smith of Albion, Jamie (Antonio) Valadez of Albion, and Jeremy (Casey Durow) Smith of Albion; grandchildren, Chloe, Sean, Dominic, Kylee, Antonio, Paris, Alexis, Taylor and Braelyn; great-grandson, Xavier; his mother, Irene Smith of Medina; siblings, Richard Smith of West Virginia, Sue (Ron Roth) Smith of Albion, Dennis (Tammy) Smith of North Carolina, and Bettyann (Lonnie) Froman of Medina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, on Sat., June 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by Jim’s memorial service at the funeral home at 1 p.m.
