James L. Sliker

American flagALBION – James L.  Sliker, 76, of Albion and formerly of North Pembroke, passed away on September 30, 2020 at Rochester General Hospital. James  was born April 5, 1944 in Batavia, a son of the late Henry and Emma (Heidenrich) Sliker.

A veteran, James served with the United States Army. He worked as an assembly line worker at the Ford Stamping Plant in Blasdell.  James also owned the Alaska Chocolate House in Fairbanks, Alaska, Della’s Chocolates in Medina and Agility Dream Dogs in Albion. He was a member of the American Legion and Double Q Agility Club.

Survivors include his wife, Della (Weatherbee) Sliker of Albion; sons, James Sliker, Jr. of Olean and Ron Sliker of Pennsylvania; a granddaughter, Krystal Sliker of Georgia; a brother, Joe (Carol) Sliker of Pembroke; sisters, Mary (Monroe) Sommers of Corfu and Joan Hale of Medina; and several nieces and nephews.

James is a brother of the late George Sliker, Arlene Herod and Patricia Zetterberg.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
