Isabelle Marie Bennett Wager

NASSAU – Isabelle Marie Bennett Wager, 95, passed away peacefully at her stepdaughter, Carol’s home Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Born in Franklinville, NY, she was daughter of the late Bert Bennett and Genevieve Washburn Bennett. She had resided in Holley, NY for several years and was a graduate of Ten Broeck Academy High School in Franklinville, NY.

Prior to her marriage in 1963 to Rev. Lawrence G. Wager, who predeceased her in 1989, she worked as a telephone operator supervisor in Arcade, NY.

Isabelle was an active participant in the American Baptist Women’s Love Gift Ministry for many years. After serving in many churches as a minister’s wife, she was choir director and pianist at Gaines Carlton Community Church in Albion, NY. She enjoyed traveling with her sister, Janice to many countries.

Survivors include her stepchildren, Carol (Wayne) Mizerak, Rev. Paul (Lynn) Wager and Lauren Wager; her sister-in-law – Doris Bennett; her grandchildren, Lisa (Eric) Barber, Timothy (Rose) Mizerak, Rebecca Wager, Amy (Mark) Johnson, Jonathan (Caitlin) Wager and Sarah Wager and her great grandchildren, Mason and Landon Barber and Levi, Chloe and Hannah Wager. “Aunt Izzy” is also survived by many nieces and nephews who brought her much joy. She was predeceased by her siblings, Clifford Bennett, James (Lynda) Bennett, Betty (Don) Hodges and Janice Ghent.

A memorial service will be celebrated in the spring at Gaines Carlton Community Church in Albion, NY.

Interment will be at the families convenience in Mount Prospect Cemetery in Franklinville, NY in the spring.
