Irma Williams

Irma Pagan Williams, 82, peacefully entered into rest with her family by her side and the sun’s rays kissing her cheek on Jan. 23, 2020 at Eastern Niagara Hospital.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Lewis J. Williams; granddaughter, Tanya Rissew; eight sisters; seven brothers; and her parents, Claudimido Pagan and Antonia Santiago.

Irma worked for Community Action Inc. of Orleans County in the late 1960s, helping others; and for the former S.A. Cook Co. in the 1970s as a seamstress. She was fondly known for her sewing talent at her business, Custom Upholstering in Middleport, N.Y. and Titusville, Fla. She also enjoyed sewing quilts and embroidering pillowcases for family and friends. Irma’s travels with her husband took her down the east coast and across the country, eventually returning to New York to be with family in 2016. Their adventures together were never-ending.

Irma is survived by her daughter, Alice (Jeff) Marciszewski; special daughter, Donna Hillman; son, Marty Smith; stepsons, Tommy Williams, Robert (Deanna) Williams, and Michael (Sue) Williams; siblings, Gloria Pagan and Felix Pagan; very special niece, Annette Lopez; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Judy Williams; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Irma did not wish for a funeral service. Rather, she always found ways of giving back to others, and she has given herself to Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo. She will be received by the Roman Catholic Diocese and buried in consecrated ground at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dementia Society of America; or to PAWS Animal Shelter in Albion.
