Irene B. Smith

Irene B. Smith, 87, of Medina, passed away Sept. 17, 2020. Irene was born April 11, 1933 in Albion, a daughter of the late Albert and Mary Goodwin.

Irene retired in 1993 from the Orleans County Nursing Home, where she was a cook. She loved to cook, garden, bake, play bingo, and crochet. Above all, Irene loved her family, especially during the holidays when everyone was together.

Irene is predeceased by her husband, Richard Smith; daughters, Mary O. Smith and Martha Atkins; son, James Smith; brothers, William Gadway and Robert Goodwin; and sisters, Emma Clark, Ethel Youngs and Violet Bennet.

She is survived by her children, Richard Smith, Sue Smith (Ron Roth), Dennis (Tammy) Smith and Betty Ann (Lonnie) Froman; daughter-in-law, Sharon Smith; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, on Mon., Sept. 21 from 12 to 2 p.m., followed by her funeral service at the funeral home at 2 p.m. To view Irene’s service, click here.
