Mrs. Helen McDonald Taylor was born on May 3, 1948 to the late Mr. Milton McDonald and Mrs. Inez McDonald.

She attended Sodus Central School and then attended Empire State University, where she received her degree in criminal justice. She worked for the New York State Department of Corrections from July 20, 1981 to July 20, 1995.

She was a strong-willed, independent woman who always strove to provide for her family and educate them with knowledge and wisdom. She was an avid reader of history and a big supporter of education. She was a Seventh Day Adventist who embraced her spirituality. She liked taking long drives along the countryside, but she most loved spending time with her family and friends.

She was called home on the morning of Mon., June 1, 2020.

Mrs. Helen McDonald Taylor was predeceased by her father, Milton McDonald; her mother, Inez McDonald; two brothers, Otis Victrum and Willie Cross; and four sisters, Mamie Hancock, JoAnne Hancock, Daisy Smith and Missy Perry.

She leaves to mourn her passing but cherish her memories: one brother, Henry White; one sister, Florine Wright; four sons, Morris (Kimberly) Taylor, Maurice (Ethel) Taylor, Mark Taylor, and Marcus (Traci) Taylor; grandchildren, Shameka Taylor, Marcell Taylor, Tierra Taylor, Porsche Taylor, LaBaron Taylor, Moses (Chasity) Taylor, Morris Taylor III, Marcus Taylor Jr., Camri Taylor, Malkolm Taylor, Rashell Lewis, Raylean Lewis, Dejah Blackmon, Eboni Taylor, Marquell Taylor, Mark Taylor Jr., Mahogany Taylor, Manwell Taylor, Mychaelea Taylor, Morgan Taylor, Mehki Rivera and Maurice Taylor Jr.; great-grandchildren, Brillance, Breanda, and Sanaai Johnson, Maximus Taylor, Semiah Watson, Semaj, Sarea and James Miller, Mya, Maelynn and Moses Jr. Taylor, Kaelyani and Morris IV Taylor, Jadev and Ava Taylor, Macaria and Mahiya Parker, Taj Prater, Jaelle Johnson and Taylor Grayson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
