Helen Elizabeth Hoag, 101, of Albion, passed away Feb. 4, 2019. She was born Sept. 8, 1917 in Albion to the late Edward Sr. and Nellie (Stoughton) Hughson and would enjoy living in the area all of her life.

Her recent residence was at the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence and she spent many years at The Villages of Orleans, to which her family extends gratitude for her care.

Helen worked for many years at the Orleans Drive-in Theater and worked on her farm with her husband, Glenn Hoag. Helen had a passion for music – Elvis was a favorite. She loved going to bingo with her son, daughter and sisters.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Glenn; daughter, Ruby Budenhagen; and her son, Richard Hoag.

Helen is survived by her son, Kenneth (Margo) Hoag of Arizona; grandchildren, Brigitte (Fredi) Willis, Tracey (Kenny) Pritt, Lorri (Jim) Vagg, and Daryl (Tim) Parks, all whom live in the area; six great-grandchildren, Chantel and Joshua Willis, Cory and Justine Daniels, Matthew and Megan Snyder; and three great-great-grandchildren, Olivia, Wyatt and Arya. She was cared for during her later years by Tom Frederickson. She was the best Mom, Grandma and friend, always extending her love and putting her family first.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion NY 14411, on Fri., Feb. 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. only. Interment will be private at Mt. Albion Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen’s name may be made to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box 489, Albion NY 14411.
