Harold Francis Grabowski
Harold Francis Grabowski, 60, of Rochester, New York, passed away on February 27, 2025, after a courageous four plus year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving son, Paul, who provided devoted care during his father’s illness.
Born on June 13, 1964, in Holley, New York, Harold was the youngest of six children born to Judith and Harold Grabowski, Sr. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Rochester Institute of Technology, earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. After graduating and working in the industry for several years, he became a licensed Professional Engineer. Throughout his life, Harold traveled the United States, living in various locations. One of his favorite places was Phoenix, Arizona, where he cherished the beautiful mountain views and the non-stop sunshine.
Harold was known for his selflessness, always putting others before himself. He volunteered at animal shelters, made brown bag lunches for the homeless, and shared words of encouragement with those in need. Despite the challenges he faced, Harold never complained. His positive spirit and willingness to help others were constants in his life. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, finding peace on long rides.
In 2023, Harold relocated to Houston to be closer to his son, Paul. This time together allowed them to create lasting memories, and Paul’s unwavering support during his father’s illness was a great comfort.
Harold is survived by his son, Paul; his siblings Catherine, Elizabeth, Jackie, Patty, Judy; and his former wife, Donna. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Judith and Harold Grabowski, Sr.
A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home on Friday, March 7th, 2025. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Arizona Animal Welfare League or Hospice of the Valley, two of the many places that Harold liked to volunteer at.
Harold will be deeply missed but never forgotten, and his legacy of kindness and love will live on in those who knew him.
