Harold D. McMullen

Harold D. McMullen, 77, of Albion, died May 27, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 29, 1942 in Rochester, a son of the late R. Roy and Ruth (Phinney) McMullen, and he lived in this area most of his life.

Harold graduated from Kendall High School in 1960. He worked at T.J. Lipton’s, and then went to work as a group leader at Kodak from 1962 to 1998. After retiring from Kodak, Harold drove school buses for Albion Central School and was affectionately known as “Grandpa” by his students. He loved all of his grandkids. He loved camping but, most importantly, he truly loved and was loved by his family. He could be seen at his children’s and grandchildren’s swim meets, band and chorus concerts, baseball games and soccer games.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Larry (Jo) McMullen.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jan (Verkest) McMullen; and his children, Shawn (Luann) McMullen, Coleen (Jay) Pahura, and Kevin (Karey) McMullen. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Shannon and Collin McMullen, Bobby and Alex Chevier, Nick and Zack McMullen, Hannah Pahura, Alicia, Dusty, Megan, Brianna, Zack and Nick Pahura, Troy Fidanza, Alyssa and Brianna McMullen. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Kathy (Brent) Jones and Eileen (Rob) Goodwin; brother-in-law, Alan Verkest; several great-grandchildren, cousins, and close family friends.

His graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
