Gloria Rosentreter

Gloria A. Rosentreter, 78, of the Town of Shelby, entered into rest on Wed., Jan. 30, 2019 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Medina.

Born June 19, 1940 in Pembroke, Gloria was the daughter of the late Maxwell and Edith (Crawford) Quackenbush. She married the late Egon Rosentreter on Nov. 8, 1958, and together they raised a family of six children. Over the years, she worked for Harrison Radiator and White Brothers greenhouses, and she also helped at the Bashford fruit stand with potting plants and cemetery urns. Gloria’s greatest passions were her grandchildren, and she bragged about them whenever possible. Gloria also loved flowers and took great pride in her gardening. She could name any flower or plant and tell you when and where to plant it, as well as let you know if you were not watering it enough.

She is survived by her six children, Wesley (Dee) Rosentreter, Lisa (Martin) Heiser, Kurt (Kimberly) Rosentreter, Gretchen (late Douglas) Bashford, Marlene (John) Rodden and Erika (Thomas) Enderby; fifteen grandchildren, Hans (Daniel) Rosentreter, Carlisle (Jake) Kodweis, Monica (Eddy) Meifert, Lee Heiser, Heidi (Steven) Kirbach, Reid Heiser, Dana (Eric) Watson, Tyler Rosentreter, Lindsey (Daniel) Frawley, Taylor (Becky) Bashford, Kyle Rodden, Michael (Stephanie) Rodden, Stuart Rodden, Mitchell Enderby and Dr. Hali Enderby; eight great-grandchildren, Violette, Olivia, Edward and Pearl Meifert, Luke Watson, Logan Bashford, Amelia and Lydia Rodden, and a ninth great-grandchild on the way, Mason Rodden; two brothers, Leslie Quackenbush and Alton Quackenbush; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Egon, in 1992; four brothers, Loren, Raymond, Gerald and Robert Quackenbush; and three sisters, Sarah Quackenbush, June Braun and Joan Penwright.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sat., Feb. 9 at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in the spring. Please share condolences and memories at www.cooperfuneralhome.com.
