Gerald R. Porter

GASPORT – Gerald R. Porter, 81, passed away in peace on Nov. 22, 2020.  He was born Sept.  26, 1939 in Lockport, the third son of the late Raymond and Minerva (Baldwin) Porter.

Gerald was a loyal GM retiree and spent time enjoying woodworking, tractor restoration and farming.  He was a member of the John Deere Two Cylinder Club.  Gerald was a Boy Scout Leader for several years.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, boating, riding his motorcycle and traveling.

Gerald joined his wife, Marge; his oldest son, Gerry; great-grandson, Gerry; brothers: Ron, Kenneth, Robert (Judy).  He is survived by his son, James (Susie) Porter; his daughter, Deborah (Michael) Horton; step-daughters: Sandy (Terry) Lund, Terri (Steve) Keenan; 18 grandchildren; a tribe of great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Nella Porter; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His memorial service will be held on Wed., Nov. 25 at 11 a.m. at Quaker Road United Methodist Church, 2800 Quaker Rd., Gasport, NY 14067.  Interment in Cold Springs Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the organization of one’s choice.  Gerald’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, Gasport.

New York State requires those in attendance to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and face coverings are mandatory.
