Gerald H. Edwards, 82, died March 7, 2021 following a long illness.  He was born May 1, 1938 in Croghan, NY to Paul and Mary (Gallagher) Edwards and had lived in this area most of his life.

Jerry was a United States Navy Veteran serving on the Aircraft Carrier USS Coral Sea.  He was a member of Holy Family Parish, former owner of The Barre Deli, a member of the BPO Elks Lodge #1006 and was an avid golfer.  He loved the Adirondack Mountain area and spending time with his family.  Jerry loved to cook and was known for his Friday night fish fries, his Saturday night prime rib dinners and was considered a “Jack of all trades.”  He was an HVAC technician and had the ability to fix anything.

Mr. Edwards was predeceased by his brothers: Fran, Joe, James; and his sisters: Mary Lawrence and Patricia Edwards.

He is survived by his wife of almost 35 years, Mora; his children: Lisa (Marc) Tucker of Albion, Scott (Rae) Edwards of Spencerport, Shawna (Brian) Erath of Clarendon, Gerald Patrick (Stephanie) Edwards of Gates; his brothers: Carl Edwards of Albion; sisters: Pauline (Bob) Forrester of Hume, Carol (George) Rich of Fla.; 12 grandchildren: Marisa, Jordan, Cameron, Abby, Chelsea, and Emma Tucker, Brandon, Zachary and Seth Edwards, Katalina and McKenzie, (and baby #3 to be,) Edwards; 4 great-grandchildren: Kai, Alonna and Cali Pescara, Kaylin Luke; his former spouse: Janet Edwards and her daughter Debbie Furness; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, Fri., March 12 from 4-7 p.m.  Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial Sat., March 13 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Parish followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery with Military Honors.  Please note that the Funeral Home and Church will be operating at 50% capacity.  Face masks/coverings are mandatory and social distancing guidelines will be enforced.
