George Baker Sr.

September 28, 1940 – April 4, 2026

OAKFIELD – George H. Baker, Sr., 85, of Oakfield went to be with His Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Rochester General Hospital. He was born on September 28, 1940 to the late Harold and Marjorie (Dowden) Baker.

He attended Oakfield-Alabama Central School. He lived in Albion, Kendall, Rochester, Hamlin and for the past 20 years in Oakfield. He was married to the late Judy (Narburgh) Little and Elizabeth (Postell).

George worked on automobiles doing body work for several years, working in various shops, before owning his own shop. He retired from Deerfield Country Club where he worked as a maintenance and repair man.

George loved classic cars and attended car shows. He owned several classic cars throughout his lifetime and his most recent one was a 1951 Chevy Deluxe. He enjoyed going to the car races, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.  He loved going to the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge to watch the eagles and enjoy nature. He was a Buffalo Bills fan even when they would lose. He loved the Lord and was a member of Oakfield Community Bible Church.

George is survived by his children, John Baker, Christy (late Joe) Moyer, Debbie (Paul) Acito and George Baker, Jr.; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Marjorie (Tom) Manning, Debbie (late Fred) Williams, and Pat (Ron) Rodas; several nieces, nephews and cousins and special friend, Cathy Vanderwalker.

He was pre-deceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Karen Baker, sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Lee Markle and grandson, David Acito.

Family and friends may call at Oakfield Community Bible Church, 80 N. Main Street, Oakfield on April 26 at 2 p.m. Pastor Tim Young will be the officiating minister. Burial will be at  Lakeview Cemetery in Brockport. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be given to Oakfield Community Bible Church, 80 N. Main Street, Oakfield, NY 14125.
