George CoxGeorge B. Cox, 88, of Albion, passed away June 12, 2019, surrounded by his loving family, at the Buffalo VA Medical Center. George was born Feb. 17, 1931 in Camden On Gauley, W.Va., a son of the late Edward Garfield and Sarah (Fletcher) Cox. He served in the United States Army (SCARWAF) from 1948 to 1952 and was a member of Sheret Post #35, American Legion. George was a member of F&AM Renovation Lodge #97, Order of Eastern Star Canal Side Chapter #381, and Orleans County Boots and Saddle Club. He was a pilot for the Civil Air Patrol and an auxiliary sheriff for the Orleans County Sheriff Department, and he also worked on the Marine Patrol. George was a former employee of General Electric who retired from Eastman Kodak Company.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67½ years, Helen (Redinger); children, James (Mary) Cox, Stephen (Kristi) Cox, William Cox, Terry (Sammy) Cox, and David (Lori) Cox; grandchildren, Jimmy, Shane, Stephen Jr., Scott, Shelby, Crystal (Shawn) Woodward, William (Jeanne) Steffen, Devin and Brayden; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Marie Woodward, Ellie, Emily and Sophie Steffen, Issac and Brittney, Rachel, Courtney and Ayden; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, on Tue., June 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by his Masonic service, memorial service, and military honors at the funeral home.
