Gail E. Sevor

HOLLEY – Gail E. Sevor, age 89, died Dec. 13, 2024 in Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center following a long illness. She was born January 30th 1935 in Holley to LD and Mary (Crego) Preston and was a life-long resident of this area.

Gail graduated as Valedictorian of Holley High School in 1952 as well from Rochester Business Institute. Gail retired from her positions of accountant and production supervisor at General Electric /Black and Decker upon their closing.  She also served the Village of Holley as a trustee and later as village clerk. Gail enjoyed playing cards,  gardening and doing jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid bowler and reader.

Mrs. Sevor was predeceased by grandson, Derek Sevor; a sister and brother-in-law, Gwen and Francis Farino; brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Martha Preston; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law ,Charles and Marilyn Sevor and Wayne Sevor; sister-in-law, Bernice (Sevor) and Ronald Verstrate and son-in-law, Ronald Mathes.

Gail is survived by her husband of 70 years, Louis; her children, Cindi Mathes of Holley, David (Terri) Sevor of Hilton, Christine (Robert) Barhydt of Holley; her brother, Loren (Sylvia) Preston of Fulton NY; her sisters, Nadine (Walter) Gage of Milford CT and Lynette (Robert) Bach of Fairport NY; and sister-in-law, Wanda (Charles) Rice, Saratoga NY. Gail is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 16650 State Route 31 Holley, on Saturday Dec. 21 from 2 to 5 p.m. only. Private services will take place at the convenience of the family.
