Evelyn Brower

Evelyn I. Brower, 95, of Medina, went to be with the Lord on Mon., May 18, 2020 at her home, with her loving family at her side. She was born on Jan. 18, 1925 in McClure, Pa., a daughter of the late John W. and Ethel Orr Snook.

On March 9, 1944, she married the late George J. Brower, and together they raised five children. In her early years, she was an avid bowler who enjoyed camping, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She was a faithful member of Millville United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also a life member of the Medina VFW and the Moose Club.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Christine Churchfield of Medina, Jerry (Pam) Brower of East Shelby, Carol (Les Payne) Brower of Medina, and Joseph (Jennifer Purdy) Brower of Holley; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Albert Brower of Lewistown, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, George, she is predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie Preisch; three sisters, Helen Sipe, Betty Engle and Ruth Shaw; and two brothers, Harold and Guy Snook.

There are no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family, and burial will be in Millville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Evelyn’s name to Orleans County Joint Veterans Council, 13996 Rt. 31, Albion NY 14411; or to Hospice of Orleans, P.O. Box #489, Albion NY 14411.
