Eugene Christopher

He had a happy childhood growing up on the family farm surrounded by a loving (and boisterous) extended family. After graduating from Albion High School, he attended college at Canton Tech. It was there that his world was upended when he met beautiful, blue-eyed Judy Willson. They married on September 24, 1966 and raised their boys in Gene’s beloved Albion.
Professionally, Gene was a successful senior executive in the recruiting and temporary-help industry with TAD Technical. He also served his country as a Sergeant in the Air Force Reserve.
As his corporate career wound down, he attempted to combine his love for fishing and business and purchased a marina on Lake Ontario that would become a 30-year passion project for his whole family called Four C’s Marina. Unfortunately, there was rarely time for fishing but still plenty of time for fun and friendship. Outside of work, Gene was more at home in camo than a business suit and enjoyed many pursuits as a sportsman. Whether hunting with his trusty English Setter by his side or casting a line in a local quarry or lake, Gene was happiest out in nature.
Gene and Judy also loved to travel, spending many happy years in Captiva Island and The Villages, Florida, and retracing his Italian roots to Rippabotoni, Italy. His greatest joy was always his family, and he adored his grandchildren endlessly.
Gene is survived by his sons, Darrick (Beth) and David; his grandchildren, Chloe, Sam, Sophie, Ryan, Grayson and Brayden; great-granddaughter, Amelia; and too many cousins to count.
Gene will be remembered at a memorial service on Saturday, April 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church West Park St. in Albion. A reception will follow at the Tavern On The Ridge, at noon.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite charity in Gene’s honor. Two that he loved to support were Orleans County Clay Crushers, a trapshooting club for teens and the University of Rochester – Golisano Children’s Hospital.
Gene’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 21 West Ave. Albion, NY.
