Esther (Foss) Baker

Esther was raised on her family’s farm in Lyndonville. She served for over thirty years in the Lyndonville Central School system in a number of different administrative support roles. Most notably, she served in vital roles as the assistant to the district Superintendent and in support of the school board. Her strength and care for her family extended to support of Twin Birch Farms and My-T-Acres, operated and managed by her husband, Gordon. Esther and Gordon were active members of Yates Baptist Church and Zion Fellowship. She sang, played piano and organ, and provided floral arrangements for church services at Yates Baptist Church. Esther had a passion for music and gardening. She shared a love of the outdoors with her family, enjoying camping and hiking trips to the Adirondacks. She and Gordon were generous and welcoming to all visitors and enjoyed learning of other cultures and sharing their own. Through the Buffalo Hospitality Group, they hosted many international groups in their home, including teams from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Cuba, Italy, Japan, South Africa, Switzerland, Turkey, and Vietnam. She was a strong, gentle woman who had a deep love for the Lord, her family, and the land.
