MEDINA – Emma M. Walton, 85, passed away peacefully in the home of her granddaughter, in Rochester NY, on April 25, 2022.

Mrs. Emma Mae Walton was born in Arlington, Georgia on April 3, 1937, to Aggie Mae Barnes and Ernest Martin.

She moved to Medina in 1953 where she started her own family. She worked at Fisher Price until retiring in the 1990s. She was a long-time member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir. She enjoyed doing puzzle books, studying her Bible, cooking, loving on babies, drinking Pepsi and being a sharp dresser. Ms. Emma was also known for her stern and sassy personality, as well as sharing her good cooking with anyone.

In addition to her parents, Emma is predeceased by her brother Jimmy, sister Lovely, and her daughter, Maryann.

She’s survived by her 8 children: Willie Taylor (Geraldine) of Lockport, Bobby Taylor of Rochester, Andrew Hammonds of Medina, Mattie Hammonds of Albion, Angela Wilson of San Antonio, Texas, Robin Manley (Kenneth) of Rochester, Carol Hammonds of Rochester and George Hammonds of Medina. Emma is also survived by many grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, at the Bogan & Tuttle Funeral Home, 226 Pearl St. Medina, NY 14103 where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Lambert Duncan officiating. Burial will be private for the family.
