Emily June Dresser

Emily June Dresser, 93, of Medina, entered into rest on Tue., Sept. 10, 2019 at Medina Memorial Hospital.

Born June 8, 1926 in Batavia, Mrs. Dresser was the daughter of the late Irving and Marian (Gubb) Zipfel. She was a graduate of Elba High School, class of 1944. Before marriage, she worked as a secretary for Sealtest Ice Cream in Batavia. On Nov. 29, 1952, she married John Q. Dresser III. Having grown up working on her family farm, she found it a natural fit becoming a hardworking farm wife, homemaker and mother. Mrs. Dresser was a longtime and active member of Millville United Methodist Church of the Abundant Harvest and was also a member of the Orleans County Farm Bureau and Cornell Cooperative Extension.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John Dresser; two sons, James (Paula) Dresser and Daniel T. (Nancy) Dresser Sr.; son-in-law, Paul Bacon; six grandchildren, Cynthia (James) Brinkerhoff, Adam (Heather) Dresser, Sara (Benjamin) Flansburg, Kaitlyn (Corey) Miller, Daniel T. (Nicole) Dresser Jr. and Dorothy (Matthew) Slegle; 10 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Henry Dresser, Molly June and Landon Flansburg, Natalie and Lane Miller, Thomas and Caroline Dresser, and Brooke and Addison Slegle; sister-in-law, Sue Zipfel; also several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Bacon; granddaughter, Emily Bacon; and brother, James (late Dorothy) Zipfel.

Calling hours will be held on Sat., Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Millville United Methodist Church of the Abundant Harvest, 12373 Maple Ridge Road, Medina, where her funeral service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. Interment will be in Millville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Millville United Methodist Church of the Abundant Harvest.
