Elwin Hutchinson
Elwin “Ed” Hutchinson, of Lockport, husband of the late Bernice Hutchinson, entered into rest Wed., April 10, 2019. Ed was born in Cromwell, Iowa in 1922, son of the late Elmer and Evangeline Hutchinson.
He was a guidance counselor at Lockport Senior High School until he retired in 1982. Known as the resident singer by the staff at Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home, Ed will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving husband and father, a dedicated educator, and an indefatigable amateur radio operator, WB2PCN.
Ed was the beloved father of Steve and Scott Hutchinson; grandfather of Bryce, Aaron, Kay and Joshua; and brother of William Hutchinson.
The family will receive friends at Sherrie Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St., Gasport, on Fri., April 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. Mr. Hutchinson’s graveside service with military honors will be held Sat., April 27 at 10 a.m. at Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
