Elsie H. Davy, 95, of Kent, died April 18, 2019 in the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence. She was born March 23, 1924 in Kent to Frank and Jennie (Poelma) Henderson.

A 1941 Albion High School graduate, Elsie was an 81-year member of Gaines-Carlton Community Church (formerly East Gaines) and a life member of the OES Canal Side Eastern Star, for which she served as Matron seven times and as secretary for 28 years. Elsie worked full time at Eastman Kodak from 1942 to 1983, sold Avon for 35 years, and was a proud member of Home Bureau, Cobblestone Society, and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Elsie was also a 55-year cancer survivor. She enjoyed actively participating in a local bowling league and Bible Study program. Reading and family celebrations were her favorite pastimes.

Else was predeceased by her husband, William K. Davy, in 1956; stepson, Ronald K. Davy, in 2009; and great-grandson, Isaiah Pettit, in 2009.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Sue) Davy of Albion; daughter, Gail (Stephen) Pettit of Albion; nine grandchildren, Lisa (Jeff) Fritz of Virginia, Chris (Cheryl) Davy of North Carolina, James (Kelly) Pettit of Indiana, Paul (Julie) Pettit of Albion, Matthew (Valerie) Pettit of Albion, Seth (Mandy) Pettit of California, Katrina (Matt) Ward of Tennessee, Jennie Davy of Virginia, and Mary Pettit of Buffalo; 19 great-grandchildren; Aunt Fern Pellet of Williamson; and close friend, Isabel Wager.

The family will receive friends on Sat., May 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gaines-Carlton Community Church, 14585 Ridge Road, Albion NY 14411, where her memorial service will be held immediately following visitation. Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
