Elizabeth P. Westlund

Elizabeth P. Westlund, 70, of Albion, died unexpectedly on March 7, 2019 at Strong Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 23, 1948 in Albion, a daughter of the late Dominic and Rose (Salemi) Pellegrino, and she lived in this area all of her life.

Liz was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Catholic Daughters. She worked for many years as Director of Medicaid at Orleans County Department of Social Services and retired in 2004. She was an avid New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills fan. She enjoyed her monthly lunches with her retired co-workers and friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa.

Liz is survived by her son, Tim (Nancy) Westlund of Albion; her grandchildren, Kendra, Dominic and Patrick; her brother, Peter (Diane) Pellegrino of Brockport; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Sun., March 10 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, where prayers will be recited Mon., March 11 at 9:30 a.m., followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish – St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
