Elizabeth “Betty” (Gyrisko) Perreault

Elizabeth “Betty” (Gyrisko) Perreault, 92, of Greece passed away on Feb. 5, 2021 at Latta Road West Nursing Home in Rochester, NY.

She was a resident of Western NY for many years. Formerly of South Hadley, Massachusetts, she was predeceased by her parents, siblings and husband of 53 years, Roger R. Perreault.

She was a 1945 graduate of South Hadley High School and attended the former Westfield State Teachers College. In Massachusetts, she worked for a time at Daniel F. Waters Bookstore in Holyoke and was employed for 39 years by Weight Watchers, Inc. She was active with the Girl Scouts, and received the Thanks Badge, the highest adult award in Girl Scouting for outstanding service above and beyond the position held as a volunteer.

She is survived by her daughters: Patricia (William) Bennett of Lewes, DE, Gail (Richard) Oparowski of Millsboro, DE and Sue (James) Bonafini of Rochester and Kendall, NY; four grandchildren: Beth Oparowski, Jon (Lindsay) Oparowski, Jiffy (John) Vermylen, and Anna Bennett (Eliot Hill); five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. A private burial will take place at St. Rose Cemetery in South Hadley, Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, Betty’s wish was that a donation to the American Cancer Society be made in her name.
