Eileen Trombley

Eileen M. Trombley, 91, of Knowlesville and formerly of Tupper Lake, N.Y., passed away peacefully on May 14, 2019 at The Villages of Orleans. She was born Dec. 31, 1927 in Conifer, N.Y. to the late Leonard and Lena (Boardman) McDonald.

Eileen was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church and of the Catholic Daughters in Albion. For many years, she was an educator for the Bible study at St. Mary’s Church in Medina. Eileen was a great seamstress who made many items of clothing for her family and herself over the years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading Christian books, playing the guitar and singing, and she was a good cook. She was a very caring woman who was like a mother to her niece, Mary Lee Knights, and like a grandmother to her great-nieces and great-nephew, Laura, Fran and Chad Knights.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edgar; sisters and their husbands, Frances (Joseph), Edna (Clifton), Millie (Maynard), and Charlotte (Ernie).

Eileen is survived by her sons, Bernard (Diane) Trombley and Robert (Cindy) Trombley; grandchildren, Bernard Jr., Nathan, Amber, Brittany, Branden Clement, Shannon, Robert Jr. and Scott; great-grandchildren, Neil, Missy and Olivia; and a great-great-grandson, Parker Clement.

The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion NY 14411, on Mon., May 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. Eileen’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Parish – St. Joseph’s Church, West Park Street, Albion, on Tue., May 21 at 10 a.m. Interment will take place in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
