Edward Jablonski

Edward J. Jablonski, 85, of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully in his sleep on Oct. 7, 2019 after a brief illness. He was born in Medina on May 1, 1934 to Anthony and Sophie (Banazwski) Jablonski.

Edward is preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Marie Jablonski; and his siblings, Laura Clark, Helen Capelli, Josephine Ehrienreich, Matthew Jablonski, Dorothy Corica, and Charlotte Puccio.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Carol A. Jablonski; children, John E. (Mary Ann) Jablonski, Deborah Ann (Chuck Kenney) Patterson, Joseph A. Jablonski, and Catherine B. Yutzler; stepchildren, Brian C. (Marie) Kreppeneck and Rebecca L. (Vincent) Muffoletto; grandchildren, John Cromwell III, Christina (Cleo) Jones, Brooke (Jeremy) Beatty, J.T. Jablonski, Ashley (Michael) Flora, and Alec Yutzler; step-grandchildren, Jacob and Matthew Kreppeneck, Brynn, Elise and Maggie Muffoletto; great-grandchildren, Donte Quinones, Jackson Hicks, Mason and Logan Beatty; numerous nieces and nephews; dear friend, Richard Sherman; and faithful companion, Callie.

Ed was employed at General Motors – Harrison Radiator in Lockport for 45 years. After moving to Roanoke, he was owner/operator of Mr. Ed’s Quality Home Repair. He served in the Army National Guard as a sergeant, as a justice for the Village of Medina and the Town of Ridgeway, and as a trustee of the Village of Medina, and he was active in numerous community projects. Edward was a member of the Medina Athletic Club (Medina Macs semi-pro football team). He went on to receive the Medina High School Wall of Fame award for his athletic accomplishments. He enjoyed competing in marathons and triathlons, including the Empire State Games. After moving to Virginia, he and Carol enjoyed biking, hiking, canoeing and camping.

The family would like to thank Edward’s primary care physician, W. Craig Mitchell, M.D., for all the many years of wonderful care.

There will be no calling hours. A celebration of Edward’s life will be held at a later date in Medina.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association in Edward’s name.
