Edith C. Murray

ALBION – Edith C. Murray, 98, formerly of Brooklyn, NY died Thursday, November 25, 2021 at the Martin-Linsin Residence in Albion after a short illness. Born April 21, 1923 in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late John E. (Helen R. Higgins) Murray.

She grew up in Brooklyn and lived there all her life until coming to Medina in 2018 to live with her niece.

Edith worked as an executive secretary for American Re-Insurance Co. in Manhattan until she retired at the age of 65. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by four nieces and three nephews, Jane Paulhamus of Green Creek, NJ, John E. (Sue) Roxey of Dunnellon, FL, Gwendolen (James) Tuttle of Medina, Regina (Larry Poggioli) Murray of Brooklyn, John T. Murray of Staten Island, David (Fatima) Murray of Staten Island, and Lorraine (Chano) Cazarubbias of Bethlehem, PA; 20 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 10 great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

Calling hours will be at the Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Rd., Brooklyn, NY on Monday, November 29, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Good Shepherd Church, 2992 Ave., S, Brooklyn, NY and will follow at 10:45 a.m.
