Dorothy C. Baehr

Dorothy C. Baehr, 80, of Middleport, passed away April 1, 2019 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 3, 1938 in Lockport to Melvin and Ellen (Peterson) Engert.

Dorothy was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and a life member of the Terry’s Corners Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and playing cards, as well as traveling to Florida every winter. Dorothy was a great socializer who enjoyed entertaining her friends and family. She loved her family to no end, and anyone who spent time with her knows that Christmas was her favorite time of year.

Mrs. Baehr was predeceased by her husband, Charles; and two brothers, James and Daniel.

She is survived by her son, Douglas Baehr of Gasport; daughters, Jane (Robert) Stanley of Middleport and Linda (Michael) Drum of Gasport; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, William (Shirley) Engert of Newfane and Richard (Camella) Engert of Rochester; sister, Joan (Gordon) Martin of Akron; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport, on Thu., April 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. Dorothy’s funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 133 Telegraph Road, Middleport NY 14105, on Fri., April 5 at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Hartland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
