Donna Marie (Macdonald) Meza
Donna Marie (Macdonald) Meza, 80, of Lyndonville, passed away Dec. 28, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving husband and family. Donna Marie was born Sept. 30, 1938 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of the late Earl Dixon Macdonald and Catherine Norma (Mackinnon) Macdonald.
Donna Marie was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Parish/St. Joseph’s Church in Lyndonville. Donna Marie and her husband, David Bernard L. Meza III M.D., moved to this area in 1969 from New York City, where she had been the Nursing Supervisor at the Caledonian Hospital and School of Practical Nursing.
Donna Marie was a true lady with a genuine love and compassion for others. Her husband described Donna Marie as a people person, a nature lover, and the perfect wife.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, David Bernard L. Meza III M.D.; a large family and dear friends, such as Karen Banach Williams, who for 18 years was the loving daughter she could never have.
The family will receive friends at Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc., 21 West Ave., Albion, on Wed., Jan. 2 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Donna Marie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thu., Jan. 3 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Parish – St. Joseph’s Church in Albion. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
