Donna L. Donovan

HOLLEY – Donna L. Donovan, 55, died May 9, 2021 in her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 6, 1965 in Rochester to late Alexander and Joyce (Janus) Sorochty and had lived in this area since 1982.

Donna was a member of St. Mary’s RC Church in Holley, worked as a cashier at Big Lots in Brockport and as a cafeteria worker at Holley Central Schools. She liked to watch baseball, basketball and football but especially loved watching her son race his radio controlled cars.  Donna was a true lover of animals and received pure joy when she was interacting with “her kids” at school. She is survived by her husband of almost 24 years, William; her children, Brandon and Britney Donovan, both at home; her brother, Brian (Mary Ann) Sorochty of Batavia; her sisters, Lisa (Frank) Marcera of Brockport, Cathy (John) Mallet of Holley; her step-mother, Eileen Sorochty of Albion as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend Donna’s Mass of Christian Burial on Sat., June 5, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s RC Church, Holley.  Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Make a Difference Rescue, 13869 Ridge Rd. West, Albion, NY 14411.
