Donald Bielak

Donald R. Bielak, 74, of Rochester, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 23, 2019.

Born on Feb. 2, 1945 in Medina, he was the son of the late Anthony and Martha (Gurynski) Bielak.

Donald attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from Medina High School in 1962. He then attended RIT and the University of Buffalo. He was employed for over 40 years as a case manager supervisor with the New York State Department of Mental Health. After his retirement, Donald worked as a legislative aide to Bill Pritchard and was a dedicated Democratic Party supporter. His friend Bill Pritchard said, “If God isn’t a Democrat, He will be soon. Donald will make sure of it!” Donald also enjoyed traveling.

Donald is survived by his siblings, Helen (Paul) Splain of Averill Park, N.Y. and Tony (Debbie) Bielak of Lockport; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially a dear friend, Carolee Conkling.

Donald is predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor Stanton and Dorothy Kujawa.

Calling hours and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date to be announced.

Memorials may be made in Donald’s name to a charity of one’s choice.
