ALBION – Donald J. Manley, 78, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2022, at his home, with his family at his side. He was born Dec. 24, 1943 in Medina to the late Flagler V. and Dorothy (Howard) Manley.

Don graduated in 1962 from Lyndonville Central School, and later received his Associate Degree in Drafting and Design from Rochester Institute of Technology. Following a period of Machinist Trade School at Eastman Kodak Company, Don spent 28 years working there in the Machine Shop, in Research, and lastly doing Prototype work.

After his retirement, Donald and his wife Judy, spent time planning out and taking a variety of sightseeing trips.  Amongst their favorites were driving across country and back, exploring eastern Canada up through Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland, and finally traveling up to Alaska. Don was also a very active member of the Albion First United Methodist Church. He helped to start and maintain The Worship in Motion program, where teenagers were trained to help tape the Sunday service, and then copies were delivered to various elderly shut-ins. He spent 25-plus years serving on all of the various committees of the Albion United Methodist Church. Don loved old cars and working in his machine shop, but most of all Don cherished the time spent with his family.

Don leaves his wife, Judy (Allen) Manley, and daughters, Sarah (Daniel) Melancon and Jamie (Larry) Cassara. He also enjoyed his 5 grandchildren: Shelby Melancon (Charles Bergeron), Chad Melancon, Ashley (Aleks) Nikolovski, Jeffery (Verenice) Bragg and Deegan Bragg, as well as 6 great-grandchildren.

There are no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the Albion First Baptist Church, W. Park St. Albion, NY 14411 on Thu., May 12, at 5 p.m. There will also be a calling hour that follows from 6 to 7 p.m.
