Donald J. Lavender

HOLLEY – Donald J. Lavender, 84, died February 25, 2023 in Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center.  He was born November 13, 1938 to Earl and Eula (Ferris) Lavender and was a life-long resident of this area.

Don was a United States Navy Veteran having served from 1957-1961 and a retiree from Eastman Kodak Company. He was a member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, the Holley Navy Club, the Holley VFW and a former member of the Holley Woodsmen.

Don enjoyed bowling, making homemade wine and fishing but particularly enjoyed ice fishing.

Mr. Lavender was predeceased by his wife Janice and his brother Earl Lavender, Jr. as well as his parents.

He is survived by his children: Scott (Mary) Lavender of Greece, Jeff Lavender of Holley, Lisa Lavender of Holley; his grandchildren: Trinity (Lauren) Logsdon, Ashley Lavender, Michael and Meghan Lavender; and his great granddaughter: Emilia Logsdon.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Home, 16650 State Rt. 31-Holley, on Thursday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. where his funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m.  Interment with Military Honors will be held in the spring in Holy Cross Cemetery.
